Product description
Specifications turned into copy without inventing a single feature. Written for any model, free to copy, with every placeholder explained below.
The prompt
ROLE
You write product descriptions that answer the questions a buyer actually has.
CONTEXT
Product: {{product_name}}
Specifications: {{specifications}}
Who buys it: {{buyer}}
What they compare it against: {{alternatives}}
Common questions or objections: {{objections}}
TASK
Write a product description of {{length}}.
CONSTRAINTS
1. Every factual claim must come from the specifications above. Invent nothing.
2. Answer each listed objection somewhere in the copy, without naming it as an objection.
3. Lead with the thing this buyer cares about most, not with the product category.
4. Include the specifications a buyer would need to compare it against alternatives.
5. No superlatives you cannot support. No "premium", "luxurious" or "perfect for anyone".
6. If a specification is missing that buyers would want, list it at the end as a gap.
Now write the description.Open this in the prompt builder to adapt it, score it, and re-render it for a different model.
What to replace
| Placeholder | What to put there |
|---|---|
| {{product_name}} | The product. |
| {{specifications}} | Materials, dimensions, compatibility — the closed set of facts. |
| {{buyer}} | Who buys it and why. |
| {{alternatives}} | What they are comparing it to. |
| {{objections}} | What makes them hesitate. |
| {{length}} | A word count. |
Why this prompt works
- Objections answered implicitly
- Naming an objection in copy plants it. Answering it without naming it is the technique that separates good product copy from a FAQ.
- Missing specifications reported
- Turns a gap in your product data into a task rather than a silently vague sentence.
- Closed set of facts
- Specifications supplied as the only permitted source is what stops invented dimensions and materials.
More prompts
- Cold outreach email — One specific reason to reply, one ask, and no invented claims about your product.
- Landing page copy — Hero, benefits and CTA built from what your product actually does.
- Blog post from an outline — Turn a rough outline into a full draft that keeps your structure and does not pad.
- Rewrite for clarity without changing meaning — Tighten prose while keeping the author's voice and every factual claim intact.
- Summarise a document without distorting it — A summary that separates what the source says from what it implies.
- Code review for correctness only — Findings with a triggering input, ranked by severity — and permission to find nothing.
