Rubric

A rubric is an explicit set of scored criteria used to judge output consistently, rather than relying on an overall impression.

A usable rubric names each criterion, its weight, and what earns full marks. Publishing the rubric alongside the score is what makes the score meaningful — a number with no stated basis is an opinion with a decimal point.
